Some Background on the piece:
This time indoors has got me thinking back to when one was responsible for their own entertainment. As a kid, Skateboarding was Hugh. It was something I could do in front of my house by myself or with friends. If you found an old wooden railroad tie, you propped it up on a brick and rail slid it for the next 7 months. Being fairly secluded during the 1980’s Occasionally I caught glimpses of skating through magazine at Molloy's Pharmacy or on trips to grandmas in Bethlehem PA. There was a landmark on that trip I stretched my neck for. There was a mini ramp in a field you could see as you drove by on the highway. I knew when it was approaching and I would stare out the window at it and fantasize about who skated it, when, and how did this wooden object come to be. It was so interesting to me, I was so hungry yet things were so out of reach then. You couldn’t go on YouTube and watch a video on building a ramp. You literally watched it go by from the backseat 300 yards away twice a year once on the way there and once on the way back. But you were happy to have it, you told your friends back home about it, then one day it was gone and eventually grand ma died.. And that’s the end. ..
Now only to exist in my minds eye, or on your wall.
